Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a partnership in which we work together to understand your problems and find solutions. Where current concerns are front and centre, we look at developing fresh ways of understanding, coping with or changing the situation. Where past experiences are getting in your way, we work to help you let go of the things you need to and move forward.
Therapy can involve discussion, education, and role-playing, where we focus on your thoughts, feelings, relationships and actions. In some cases, positive changes can be seen fairly quickly; for others, longer term treatment is necessary. We tailor the frequency of sessions to your specific needs. However, therapy often works best if you come weekly initially so we can make headway on the challenges you are facing. Many people appreciate scheduling periodic or ‘booster’ sessions with someone who knows them well after the main part of their work is done.
Services for Professionals
Case consultation is available on a one-time or continuing basis to assist with practice issues, working through ethical dilemmas, and administrative aspects of clinical practice such as office policies, documentation, or record-keeping. Professionals may also benefit from support while moving through formal regulatory processes.
